Resources For You and Your Student(s)

Please feel free to reach out to me with any concerns or further information. These are all for you to utilize.

Back Pack Program

The Back Pack Weekend Food Program, Inc. (BWFP) provides a bag of nutritionally-balanced food options for

students in need to take home on the weekend so they can return to school ready to learn. Each bag contains

food items that are nonperishable and individually portioned. The BWFP is designed using a partnership model. Each school has an assigned partner who packs the food bags and delivers them to the school weekly. Once received, a the school counselor (Ms. Scronce) will distribute food bags to students to take home.

School-Based therapy

School-Based Therapy is a therapy service that is offered at all Gaston County Schools. Tryon Elementary School works with Kintegra Health for all school-based therapy services. SBT promotes emotional health for students within their school setting. Therapists work directly with caretakers and school staff to identify students who may benefit from therapeutic services. Services provided include individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, staff consultation, and appropriate referrals to other mental health services, if needed. School-based therapists provide therapeutic counseling in dealing with emotional and behavioral problems.
